No cooling-off period on engraved cards
Every card is engraved specifically for you. That makes it a custom-made, personalised good under Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU), for which the statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply once production has started. You cannot return an engraved card because you changed your mind.
1. Before production starts
As long as we have not begun engraving, you can cancel your order free of charge. Email us as soon as possible at info@statuur85.nl with your order number. We refund the full amount, including shipping.
2. What always applies
Regardless of the above, you retain the statutory guarantee of conformity. We resolve it free of charge — with a new card or a refund — when:
- the card arrives damaged or defective;
- we engraved something other than what you supplied;
- the engraving is badly executed (misaligned, illegible, incomplete);
- the NFC chip does not work or does not point at your profile page.
That last point deserves emphasis: a card that looks perfect but does not respond to a phone is a defective product. You should not have to argue the point.
3. How to report it
Email info@statuur85.nl with your order number and, for visible damage or an engraving error, a photo. Please report it within fourteen days of receipt where possible, so we can trace the cause — this does not affect your statutory rights.
We will tell you whether we want the card back. If we do, return postage is on us. Please do not send anything back before we have confirmed it.
4. Refunds
Refunds are issued to the same payment method you used, within fourteen days of us resolving the complaint.
5. Your profile page stays yours
If a card is replaced, you keep your existing profile page. We point the new card at the same profile, so you need not re-enter anything and details you have already shared stay correct.
6. If we cannot resolve it
Contact us first at info@statuur85.nl. If we cannot reach a solution together, you can turn to the European ODR platform.
